I'm more of a Splinter Cell fan because of the gameplay. I think it's far more intuitive and "fun" than MGS (excluding the awesome MGS boss fights).
MGS has its upside as well, though. I enjoy both series, though MGS can wear on my nerves with its mind-numbingly stupid plot lines.
