The big problem in reviews nowadays is consistency. Company doesnt seem to regulate on how much point should be given to each category. Sometime a fairly small problem will substract a whole point while a much bigger one on another game will not substract any. Reviewers inside the same company should have the same evaluation grid, but it doesnt seem to be the case with most companies. Another thing is that, many video-game reviewer do unrational hating or loving. Even if he dont like a game, a good reviewer should be able to see what can please other and the work/effort put behind a game. I think in the whole media industry, its by far, the video-game reviews that are the most unprofessional, sometime its like reading a fanboy whos suppose to be journalist, looking at IGN.
