Michael Bay speaks before thinking in a new forum post on his web site. This time he raves about Microsoft and the conspiracy that they company supports HD DVD for the sole reason of hurting Blu-ray.

The director posted this on his forum:
"That is the dirty secret no one is talking about. That is why Microsoft is handing out $100 million dollar checks to studios just embrace the HD DVD and not the leading, and superior Blu Ray. They want confusion in the market until they perfect the digital downloads. Time will tell and you will see the truth."

A few things to comment on here by your Editor-in-Chief ( Yes, that is me =) ). MS never paid Paramount any money for the change. It has been said that "Advertising" dollars was promised to Paramount from Toshiba. Think the Shrek HD DVD ads. However, this is the only concrete evidence that their was any money involved with Paramount dropping Blu-ray.

About Microsoft making sure that no one wins I can only say this. Sure, like Sony preparing movie downloads on its Playstation 3 gaming console? Like Apple supporting Blu-ray although they have never released a product with a Blu-ray drive and currently betting all their iPod dollars on iTunes movie downloads? If you want to see a conspiracy it is not hard to find one.

With all this said. Don't believe everything you read especially not when a war is ongoing.
