Initial impressions:

Too consolified, only 3 guns, seriously, what the fuck?
Aliens hit like pussies
Melee attack, seriously, when did you see anyone in the movies walk up to an Alien and hit it up close?

All in all, consoles take a shit on yet another franchise, so far.

Huh? When wasn't Aliens vs. Predator a console franchise? If anything I blame the PC. No reason as to why. I just feel like blaming it.

When it was AVP and AVP2 were solely released for the PC.

P.S. They were absolutely awesome and didn't have any half-assed, shoehorned, mechanics.

You mean the series Rebellion started on the Atari Jaguar almost 5 years before it ever saw the light of day on a PC? Man you sure don't know a lot about the history of a franchise you have no problems bitching about.

For those with a hint of nostalgia, remember these?

I need to get me a Jaguar again.

If you really want to be technical, the first AVP game was for the Game Boy. As I said earlier, the PC versions of AVP and AVP2 are the only AVP games which don't have ha;f-assed, shoehorned, mechanics that make no sense whatsoever (seriously... PUNCH AN ALIEN IN THE FACE, just how retarded is that?) and ruin the game completely.

If you really want to be technical, the first AVP game was for the Super Nintendo, not the Game Boy. Secondly, I was talking specifically about the exact same PC series you are. The first person shooter, survival horroresque, Rebellion developed series? Yeah that all started on the Jaguar, not the PC. Everything the PC games were built from comes from the ideas in that first game in '94. Just for the sake of argument though, what "half-assed, shoehorned mechanics that make no sense whatsoever and ruin the game completely" were in the original Jaguar game?
