Glad to see the guys at Evolution are being given another shot at this franchise. After the sales of the last one, I wasn't sure it'd be coming back.
Maybe if they give this one more time in the oven (which they seem to be doing, as it hasn't been announced yet) and market it better, it'll sell better than the last. Pacific Rift was a nice improvement over the first in many areas, but it still felt quite rough around the edges. For all the improvements they made to the graphical engine, the low res ground textures and lack of AA brought down the overall look, imo. I didn't have enough hands on time to really comment on the gameplay, but I haven't heard any bad things on that front.
