Eh, buying a company is not going to do anything except drain their pockets. There are plenty of good, under-supported developers out there who are willing to take their current positions. It's a liability to own a software company, and it doesn't take away games from the competition really.
It's a good idea because they are a struggling developer, but a better idea would be to actually help them out with exclusivity deals and spare devs or even a lower fee for game sales or something.
