I have my doubts that the 360 shots are totally legit. Esp that one of the girl. Her hair looks so grainy at the ends it almost looks like a scan of a magazine photo of a screen shot. It's also got he slightly washed out look of a picture scan.

There's no hiding the jaggies, and lighting differences, but really who notices jaggies when you're actually playing? I don't. And as long as the lighting doesn't affect the overall visual quality what's the big deal?

Comparing slightly more jaggyness and differences in lighting and slightly lower texture quality with the woeful effort at porting Bayonetta over to PS3 is frankly insulting to the FFXIII port to the 360. The difference in porting quality between these 2 games is so vast that it's more accurate to say the 360 version of FFXIII IS identical in every way to the PS3 version of FFXIII than it is to say there is any comparability in the porting quality of Bayonetta onto PS3 and FFXIII onto 360. I supported the notion of a boycott of Bayonetta on PS3 because the porting job was so bad (now the patch is out I think the right thing was done by PS3 owners and I wish Bayonetta equal success on both consoles now). For FFXIII on 360 I think people who own both consoles should get the game for whichever controller they prefer to use. Because controller comfort, I think, will be more of a factor than visual performance in your enjoyment of the game.

As far as we know the gameplay (you know the really important stuff) will be exactly the same, so 360 players will have as high quality experience with this game as PS3 players, and with multiplats it's the comparability of the gameplay experience that matters. And missing foliage, seriously, isn't even worth showing as a difference. More than likely those little bits of code went missing in the porting process and no one in the QC department picked it up, it's not even a game or hardware performance issue. Maybe, just maybe, wee bits of code like that got wiped for the 360 to fit the game on the 3 DVDs, no problem, doesn't affect the game in any way that's important.

People are going make a call on the definitive version of this game, it's inevitable, and lens of truth will magnify the differences out of proportion of their true importance (as they always do). But in reality those calls are going to be made on the flimsiest of pretexts.

hey woahh, controller comfort...really? are you retarded. fanboys these days trying to defend the pathetic 360...
