Square Enix Want FFVII Remake If It Only Takes A Year!

I smell lots of PR smack talk here, I think they just want to silence us all over this whole FF7 remake thing, 10 years is too long for a development cycle.
They already have an engine, they already have the knowledge required to code for PS3, the storyline and characters have already been created for it.
Seriously I think it would only take them 3 years to do, they don't need to change anything other than the graphics, the story and mechanics can be kept, that would make me happy.
