I had some time to kill so I figured I would see what kind of PC $500 can buy and this is what I came up with:

  • Athlon II X3 2.9 Ghz
  • 4GB DDR3
  • HD 4850 512MB DDR3
  • Western Digital 750GB HDD
  • Samsung DVD/RW
  • Asrock AM3 770 board
  • Antec NSK 4482B w 380W 80+ efficiency PSU

Pretty cosmic specifications for $500 +shipping/tax/OS + anything else if needed, if I say so myself. Asrock is the 'value brand' of Asus so they aren't too shabby really.
