Nice try, but no dice. I'm clearly a very anime-oriented person (or have been), and I had never heard of them, but you stated that you've been watching old anime throughout your 22-year old life, something most people would not have done. I'd say it's you who's imposing your upbringing to other people here - not the other way around.
