No, it's not copying MW2 when it comes to what matters, the game-play mechanics. It only copies Modern Warfare's marketing to the broad masses. So you're right about that part, it's catering to that kind of player and many MW2 players will buy BC2. And that's a good thing because these players will move to a lot more advanced and sophisticated game in my opinion (with BC2's objective based team play). We need those games too, with a big player base to support them. |
And I would love if those CoD players would actually follow those objectives----but they're not going to. They're going to camp and snipe, just like in the Hitler video from earlier. And if they're not camping/sniping they'll be running and gunning. They will not use their mics, they will not follow objectives, and they will lose rounds for you. On the bright side, they may also get sick of the game pretty quickly and quit as well.
MAG is one of the only online shooters I have ever played that does not cater well to these idiots. You can't just run into an objective and try to take everyone out. You will die. Plain and simple. And players that "get" MAG are not going to run in and save you, because they are actually trying to take the objective, not pump up their stats. If you are sniping for even 2 minutes in MAG, it's likely that after your first kill at least 15 people are going to know where you are and knock your ass out. If you're sniping in MAG, you had better make sure you're in a good spot, and good luck getting back to that spot once you die and have to respawn.
I don't know, maybe BC2 will prove me wrong. As I said before, I love the Battlefield series, and the console games are getting a little closer to the PC experience from BF2, BF2142, etc, but they're not nearly as good in the long run.
