As kids we didn't have exactly a lot of money nor did we get a lot of games as a gift. So we had this wacky idea that we would lend each other games, so everyone could play more different games. In fact, that's still practiced today.

What this means is that someone who has played a game is not necessarily an owner of said game. There's no way to know how many users actually bought the game and certain games simply don't seem to be worth the money, so only one person bought it, but several played it without ever owning it.
