In theory yes, in practicality it wouldn't work.

Though not for money reasons.

Of course, I don't think there should be anything that is defined by gender as well. No women only or men only professional sports leagues and such.

lol, so were you mad at the olympic announcers last night mentioning that people didn't think the women couldn't handle the downhill slope because it was so difficult?

Men & Women are not created equal on the physical level, there is a good reason for them being seperated in professionsal sports (not all sports of course, but most)

@main topic

absolutely not. Guys are pigs and slobs and they can't hit the toilet to save themselves. Every single public mens room I've gone in just reeks (unless it is at some really nice place, and schools don't qualify). Every single womens room I've been in smells nice (even the trashy places like public schools). Yes I'm a guy, but at least I don't want to force women to go through what I go through.

Didn't watch it.

Additionallly... men and other men aren't created on an equal physical level.
There are many differences in genetics and how people are born rather then just the male female dichotomy.

A good 80% of MEN can't compete in Men's sports with that number being higher in proffesional sports.  It seems odd that female sports exist with a similar ratio for a similar reason.

Afterall the best women atheltes could still kill mediocre men atheletes in most cases and sports.

Hell David Stern the commisoner of the NBA actually thinks we'll see a female player in the NBA in the next 10 years.

I agree, obviously not everyone is created equal, however right now Men/Womens breakdowns is what works best for top teir competition in most sports. Obviously curling there is no reason for a mens/womens breakdown, but in speed skating wouldn't you want women to have a chance to win something? I mean, the men broke the women's world speed skating record for the 500m over 30 years ago and has far exceeded it (just one stat I was looking at the other day). In the women's downhil, Lindsey Vahn won using men's skis. She's been doing it all year long and destroying the competition. Once everyone found out they tried to switch to the longer/stiffer skis, but they gave up on them as they were "too hard to control". We're talking olympic level atheletes here where only 1 person actually uses the equivilent equipment as the men.

Removing the Mens/Womens breaks and introducing some other divider would lead to having the elite men's groups, and then everyone else in many competitions, and honestly I don't think many people want to watch that (or compete in it)

As for NBA, well the women really really really need to improve if they want to hit the court with the men. I'm yet to watch a women's game that wasn't laughable in comparison. Same goes for Lacross, Hockey, Football, and a lot of other sports. Obviously NASCAR is a sport where women can compete equally (except no one wants to fund any of them), and same goes with a few other sports where it is a shame they don't get a chance due to stereotypes.

No, i wouldn't want women to have a chance to win something.  Not on a proffesional or state funded level.

Not if they can't compete on a "greater" stage.

It's sexism, but just the more devious kinda that gets to linger because it's beneficial to the "lesser" sex.  There mere existing put women on a "lesser plane"

Men and Women's physical differences shouldn't be treated any differently then Men who are born with the ability to be top level atheletes and men who are born 4'10 men.  The difference between men and women should be treated no differently then the differences between men with the only exceptions being medical care.

With different socialistation i think you'd be surprised just how far some female athletes could get.  Men would still dominate all the proffesional tracts... but some exceptional women would be able to compete.  You'd find women in most competitive sports in the future.

The best refrences I can bring up are places like Dahomey where the greatest warriors were women... and this was back at a time where fighting was based pretty much soley on training and physical aptitude.
