ugh. Cry me a river. People who are saying THQ didn't try with their titles are just bitching for no reason. There were a lot of advertisements for de Blob and it was pretty hyped as well. It outsold the Nintendo first party effort that came out the exact day that de Blob came out.

Edit: Also, why would they waste so much money on marketing Deadly Creatures after it started getting beaten down pretty hard by critics?

Re: De Blob, they did advertise it the first month, and it actually did go and sell over 700,000, so why blame the WIi audience?

Advertisements for de Blob actually continued through the holiday season. I remember seeing ads for it up until around Christmas. It should have sold more copies in my opinion because it was a great game.

If Deadly Creatures would have been worth the effort imo, they would have at least TRIED to advertise it instead of sending it on its way to die. THQ doesn't really go through hardcore advertising for a game unless they think the game is worth it (de Blob, Darksiders and arguable Saints Row 2 are the only games I recall seeing major marketing for from THQ). THQ isn't like EA or Activision, they don't have loads of money to spend on advertisements. So they choose what to advertise carefully.

I think everyone agrees that de Blob did well on Wii with advertisig and being a quality game. However, you are basically saying THQ send Deadly Creature out to die without any advertising because it's not worthy but they are right to blame its failure on Wii audience.

I have discussed my view on Deadly Creature's failure here

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
