It's not fake, Dimps made the Sonic Rush games and those have the Sonic Team logo. This is nothing new, Sammy constantly tries to sell games based on name alone, that's why they took Sega's name after buying out Sega, and it's why Dimps developed games have the Sonic Team logo.

 

And whoever said Dimps has a good track record? Dimps makes good games, yes, but they're nowhere close to the quality of Genesis Sega titles. Dimps has never understood what Sonic is really about, and as such they focus more on speed than anything else. The Rush games, albeit a fun romp, turned Sonic into a complicated platformer. Sonic used to be a popular mascot because Sonic games used to be simple, only 1 button and the d-pad were all that were needed.

 

Predicting it now, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will get good reviews, but people who actually play it will say Sonic is still well behind Mario, and isn't as awesome as he used to be.
