How relevant is a review score to you gamers?

The biggest problem with that is: if you review every game as it is, then Fifa 10 and fifa 11 and fifa 12 should all be wonderful games, as they probably won't change much of the gameplay, as they seemingly got that right now. However, the sequels will get a hit in scores because of repetition, no innovation and so on. Why should they (in this regard) be considered as "for what it is", when its borrowing or building off previous games is exactly a reason to view it differently.
