Section 8 was "almost" good. It had some good ideas, and even some reasonable execution but just somehow fell slightly short of getting it all to mix and meld into the "magic" that truly good games have.

One of the biggest things holding them back as well, was integration of GFWL on PC.. which caused any number of problems and technical difficulties, not just for a huge % of individuals trying to play but for the dedicated server community that was trying to grow around the game. Section 8 launch and first month is a superb case study on why no developer that wants to be successful should ever integrate that crap.

They are probably porting to PS3 because they want to do a multiplatform title next, and they are both hoping that PSN sales will generate some revenue, at least enough to cover the time it took to port - and also that securing a new publishing deal / investment will be made easier if they can demonstrate technical competance on the PS3 with a published game.
