So a nunchuck too? Isn't this just a complete copycat of the wii?

isn't including any type of motion control into this generations HD consoles a "complete" copycat of the Wii? I mean....untill a year ago both MS and Sony (game divisiions) spend 50% of their time downplaying motion controls and talking about how the Wii sucks. Now they are both copying Nintendo...If we can't admit this then were in some serious denial.

Natal is quite a bit more original than Arc is, if you ask me.

They are still both complete wii copycats.

If you mean that the Wii drove both Microsoft and Sony into motion control territory, then yes. Practically though, Sony's execution is much closer to the Wii than Natal is.

That is exactly what I meant. They are both complete Nintendo copycats. both companies downplayed motion controls untill a day before E3. If MS or Sony had ONE BIT of originality, they would have included these useless motion add-ons when the consoles were launching. What they are doing now is desperately copying Nintendo. Also, Project Natal also "copies" ideas from PlayStation Eye.

You say it like it's a bad thing, that they're doing this. This will create competition for Nintendo and bring motion controls to HD games, originality doesn't count for shit here. It's all about how you use it, not who came out with the idea first.

That's because IMO it is a bad thing. The Wii is able to pull it off perfectly becase motion sensing was at the very heart of the console from the start. Sony and MS spent years downplaying the technology they are now going to use. Such a big change to consoles is completely unwanted for me. I bought all three consoles so I could enjoy what each has to offer...not so the two HD ones completely rip the winner off. This whole thing can play out in a couple of ways which I don't like:

1 - Motion controls wont catch on with the HD consoles and most games will be the same as they have been since the generation started. This would make the new add-ons completely pointless.

2 - Motion controls do catch on and most games will start using it. This would force millions of us to go out and buy new peripherals that we may not even want just so we can play games.

3 - It will only catch on with a handful of games. This scenario would also suck because there will only be a handful of games, most of which will likely suck like PSEye games.

I'd write more and collect my ideas again, but I've already made it very clear that I hate where MS and Sony are going with this. Check my thread out (I literally made it right after the E3 announcements from MS and Sony): http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=75422
