I suppose "remake" isn't quite the right word for it, but I saw Ken Lobb's video (renowned for the Klobb, of course) where he said that the x-box live version has improved graphics, framerate and a couple of extra unlockables/secrets - so I think it will be halfway between a remake and a straight port.

What you've described is pretty much a remake.  Also, the extra content is Goldeneye levels.

Metroid Zero Mission was a remake

Resident Evil on the Gamecube was a remake

If you compare this release to those games, it falls fairly far short.

If assets are being entirely redone (which seems to be the case here), then it's a remake.  You don;t need to always overhaul every aspect of game design for it be a remake.  Resident Evil and Zero Mission were practically new games.

Super Mario All-Stars was a collection of remakes.  Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland was a remake.  Neither really have any significant gameplay changes or reworkings, just visual/audio overhauls.

We just draw the line at a different point it seems. Tomato, tomato...
