The only thing they should change is the trigger buttons. I think they should stay the same size, only make them slightly concave to prevent slipping. Everything else is perfect. The size has lasted me from childhood to adulthood. I love the position of the analog sticks, it helps to be more synchronized. And the lighter weight helps not strain your hands after hours of playing.
I don't understand why some feel PS fans are living the "Dark Ages" just because we know what we like and Sony doesn't try to screw around with that. Hell, if it wasn't for Sony we might not have the dual analog stick controllers that are prevalent today. And just because a controller's left analog and directional buttons are switched doesn't make it "New Age." I'll be suprised if we see the same articles when the X-Box controller turns 10 next gen. The original PS controller is the first one that fit just right in my hands, one reason I chose it over the N64 (hated that controller).
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just slightly alter it to perfect it. And no, that doesn't include moving any analog stick.
