I've got a collection of old consoles and games.
Be warned as a collector I only pay money for items in mint condition.
Most of my "collected" games are as new and some are even still sealed.
Pride of place in my collection goes to either my unopened Simpsons edition N64 or my mint condition Pitfall for the Atari 2600.
Collecting old consoles is great fun, but the optimum time for the purchase is after the initial surge of interest and before the stop selling them new.
I only bought the Simpsons N64 because it was sealed and only cost 80 Bucks from the shop.
You could still buy N64's at the time but the Dreamcast had launched and the nex gen was just round the corner.
My near mint Pitfall I paid a fortune for.
Timing is everything.
