Seems like all the signs are pointing in that direction, tough to really think of any Epic game that could involve "face-melting news" that's been given as many hints then Gears 3.

And they always want to promote their engine...what better way is there to advertize it with a blockbuster gears game, plus, they want to show off all the new unreal features at GDC...
