Built 18 months ago as a power saving PC.

Fully loaded but with a fanless GPU and fanless CPU heatsink.

Whisper quiet and 2/3 the energy pull of my last PC.

Ohhh details? Im curious about building a proper HTPC.

I'll try to dig out the details but no promises. It was a long time ago.

Basically I used a low power PSU and all in one MB coupled with a Low Energy AMD x2 chip.

The heatsink is a monster over the chip. About 6 inches high and 4 inches square at the base.

Lots of fins and copper pipes is the order of the day. It came with a big clip on fan but after a little experimentation I ditched it as the idle temp on the busy core #1 was 38C and even under load (not what my PC was designed for so no really a huge consideration) 52C

So now I have a whisper quiet PC and I recently upgraded to a Green Spin 1TB drive to further its low energy footprint.
