However, you mentioned system sellers in your last post. What do you define as system sellers? I for example buy a system based on three types of games: rpgs, third person games (tps / tpa), and strategy games. I rarely play fps type games that do not heavily incorporate other elements (aka fps / rpg such as Borderlands). I do believe that some people base their buying habits on fps but I believe that third person (Uncharted / Mass Effect 2 / Gears) atually influence alot more decisions. Your thoughts? |
For me a system seller would be a big (often quite hyped) game that you can't play anything like it on your current system. Halo, Left 4 dead, Mass Effect and Gears for Xbox. Killzone, uncharted, heavy rain (possibly infamous) and LBP for PS3. Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Mario Galaxy and NSMBW for wii. I think that these are the games that would convince me to buy a system (although I bought my PS3 for GT5 - I thought the damn game would be out by now!)
Looking at the list though.... I guess if you removed Halo, L4D and Killzone, the scores would even out a bit. I may have to agree that Edge only shows bias towards Xbox FPS (although I am still a bit pissed off about heavy rain!!).
However, that is still a bias towards Xbox, which a multi platform magazine really should never do. I pissed off mostly due to the fact that I used to hold Edge reviews in very high regard, their review system is totally crap now and if you can't trust an independent reviewer to review a game fairly, who can you trust?
The dude abides
