I just counted, I bought 50 games over steam last year. It cost me just over 210€. Buying 4 console games would be more expensive over here, at least at retail price around release. You could also get around 15 cheap or used handheld games for that price.
Myself, I find PC gaming to be extremely cheap, in that regard. Sure, I also paid €700 to upgrade my PC to be able to play the latest games, but if I hadn't I wouldn't be able to type this. I wouldn't have had a computer at all then, and I desperately need one.
You can prefer console gaming all you want, I simply cannot afford it :(. I want to play Wii Sports Resort and Uncharted 2 as well. Instead I'll have to settle for Empire: Total War, Grid and Jade Empire.
