So I just found a ridiculously good deal on a PS3 on craigslist, so good in fact that it seems too good to be true. So I was wondering what sort of risks I could be looking at?

If I were to meet with the person and test the system, apart from the obvious which is playing games and movies what should I do/look for? Also if it was stolen by the person I'm buying it from what risks could I possibly be dealing with?

Thanks for any advice.

FYI the deal is 7 games, hdmi cable, dualshock 3 w/ cord, and a 120GB slim all for $120. I tentatively offered him $200 for it in an email but I'm obviously wary about this...

i cant believe people didnt mention this (i did only check the first page though). his ps3 ip address might be banned along with all or some of those games. i heard about people selling banned xbox 360's on craiglist so it wouldnt be any different for the ps3. so check if his ps3 isnt banned from online play. check all plugs and connections. make sure it isnt stolen by checking its serial number (if thats how you check for stolen products). make sure the ps3 slim itself isnt broken, hard drive, blu-ray drive, fan, etc. check if its still under warrant if so then theres definitely something sneaky about the deal. all that with a valid warranty for 120$? check if it isnt counterfiet. i know there are fake ps3 controllers but not to sure of fake ps3 themselves. check if the games are real and not just him saying youre getting those games and not delivering.

i doubt he needs the money he can get double that by pawning it if he needed the money. also dont visit strangers without a friend accompanying you. there was a case of someone on craiglsit that was killed meeting someone from craiglist
