"More than 40 million registered Playstation Network accounts have been established"
I know 99% of you will take this the complete wrong way, but for that 1% out there that isn't heavily Sony biased, I feel that this figure is nearly pointless.
1. It represents 3 platforms worth of users: PS3, PSP, and PC forums.
2. It is free so many many people make multiple accounts (for different regions, different games, etc.) See MW2 on PS3 for example. The leader boards are filled with people who have like 20 accounts each and just made the accounts to stat glitch.
3. This does not report "active accounts" like Xbox Live stats are for. This means that any account on PSN even if it hasn't been used in months (like mine since I sold my PS3) or never will be used again is still counted in the total.
