Acting performance, story telling and facial expressions I find important for these sort of games. So Mass Effect 1 was unconvincing for me, videos of ME2 look similar to me and Heavy Rain much better.

IMO Mass Effect 1 was overrated/overhyped, too buggy, repetitive and lacked some atmospheric ingredients for me.
