@ disolitude: Very nicely done. Im very excited to see what 3D will be able to do. For those of us who are lucky enough to be able to take the techno jump (or like myself have a 3D ready tv) the possibilities are fantastic.

Rumor right now is that 3.2 PS3 firmware update will enable 3D on the ps3 (probably movies only).

Ill go back and find some of those links I showed you earlier, to add to the official post for members who want to read more (about HDMI, PS3 blueray 3D and other things)

Sweet...yeah if you find something that adds more details to the PS3 3D upgrade, ill add it to the OP. I tried to be as basic as possible, and there was no PS3 3D details when I made this thread...

While not gaming (but close enough).  This is what the blue-ray disc accociation wants to do with 3D blueray. (1080P per eye @ 60hz)

Now this is interesting too

"The 1.4 version of the specification will define common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices. The specification will standardize the input/output portion of the home 3D system and will specify up to dual-stream 1080p resolution."

The PS3s firmware update will included some of the 1.4 HDMI specs (such as Stero 3D support/throughput @120hz) but others it cannot (no audio to/from channel, no ethernet port since these require hardware as well).

I've added an informative video for PS3 3D plans. The bluray and HDMI stuff is really interesting too but ill leave it out as I want to keep the OP gaming oriented.

Its quite amazing that HDMI 1.4 supports 3840×2160p at 30Hz or 4096×2160p at 24Hz max. I know the resolution is meant for 3D (1080pX2) but I wonder if a TV will ever exist which supports the full HDMI 1.4 resolution in 2D.
