No, they're not good. Period. Sonic Unleashed was, for example, crap.
The truth is that Sonic games were never THAT good.
The character just succeeded in being one of the kids favorites back then, most for his attitude and speed and less for his actual games.
When this wow factor passed (including the infamou BLAAAAAST process), people are now judging his games the way they should back then - so so games - and not masterpieces or even great games.
