I wrote "many", not "all". But I should back that up. I get plenty of anecdotes around here and elsewhere about people or their friends (who don't post stuff online) doing this. Not claiming that's scientific of course, just that is shows a lot don't care about the stories in all games.

Movies are not games. You play a game. You sit and watch a movie.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
