I disagree. There is a such thing as a needless markup, and price gouging, in many cases the public is ignorant enough of the industry not to know they are paying said excessive markup. Not to say the only reason apple producs sell, is ignorance, but the public willl almost always be ignorant of innovative modern technology, and thus, will rely mostly on branding as a base for their buying decisions, and not value, or quality, which means your marketing team and not your product quality, assures success, which in turn implies that quality products might not necessarily be the ones that progress as mankind progresses. |
We'll have to agree to disagree. I don't believe something is overpriced is the consumer is happy with the experience and product.
For example, I'm completely happy with my Macbook Pro, even though I could have purchased a Dell for half the price that offered similar speed, RAM, HDD size, etc. The MBP does what I want it to do, runs both Windows and OS X, and does it all in a great package that suits my needs.
You could call that overpriced. I'm quite happy with it. You have to remember that "value" is entirely subjective.
On the other hand, I think the iPad is stupid-expensive for what it does.
