When will it be the very last day of the PS2?... any one knows?...the reason Im asking cuz Im thinking about buying another PS2 for back up. I already had one a Slim PS2 that works fine. havin a spare is a great idea don't you think?

No need to even worry about it, even when Sony announces the PS2 will be discontinued you will still have probably a year or so after that you can buy them new in stores or online. 

Okay, tha sounds about right.... they did that with the PS1 didn't they?

what i mean is that even if they discontinue it that retailers will still have it in stock for a long time.  It will never happen that suddenly you cannot find a new PS2, after Sony announces it being discontinued it will be a very slow process taking a year or so.

By then the PS2 be like around $59.00.... maybe?

Actually it's quite unlikely that another price cut ever happens.  Used prices will drop a little but not new.
