So you've never watched a trailer for something or heard the premisse explained by someone and knew outright you just were not going to enjoy that movie? There's simply no way you enjoy every genre. How would you choose which movies to watch? There's gotta be a big chunk of them you ignore. |
Hearing premises and seeing trailers have made me worried they weren't going to handle the subject in the right way, however that's not really the same thing. Like I said, no subject is boring if handled the right way, guessing it's probably going to be handled the wrong way isn't exactly damning indictment.
For example, i'm not enthused to see every romantic comedy as they can be quite formulatic... however there are plenty that are well worth watcing. Some because they break formula... and others because they execute within the formula so well.
As for how would you choose what movies to watch? The same way you choose between what movies you watch a combination of what i feel like at the time, what i've heard was done well and
I often read movie recaps on wikipedia and such before I watch them to get a feel.
Also i rarely watch the same movie twice... and if I do it's pretty much never of my choosing. With rare exceptions of movies on TV.
Including my favorite (a strange one for a favorite i suppose) Brewsters Millions.
Do you still miss a lot? Sure. Hell if you dedicate yourself to Kung Fu movies your still going to miss a lot. Movies aren't a devotion, they're for entertainment to be consumed at will.
I think in general there are movies in any genre that a lot of people could enjoy, assuming they aren't uptight about something.
It's likely the same with games. I probably don't get into rythem games because I can't get into the "karoke" type mindset too often so i can't get immersed since i never wanted to be a rockstar.
If they made a rythem game based on something else i'd probably enjoy it.
