There are so many different American accents, I don't think I can nail down what a person from Ohio sounds like. Most of them seem to have a strong emphasis on 'a' sounds and a slight nasal quality. The average American accent sounds as if its designed to cut through the noise of a crowd, which makes it sound a little obnoxious if there's no crowd to be overcome.
