The average American accent would be the "Accent Neutral" dialect that is taught to newscasters I guess, the closest it comes is to a California accent. Here in lovely Minnesota, we've got a pretty pronounced accent (think the movie Fargo but tone it down a few notches), it is what it is. Texans make fun of me, but I can always be secure in knowing that none of my relatives are married to their sisters/brothers/cattle. 
For the record, the sexiest accents are: British, Scottish and French. For women that is. American, not so hot.
