If they make a version that comes with most of the DLc it is, otherwise, stick with the Sims 2. Out of the box you get next to nothing.

Have yo even tried out the create-your-own design thing.
Paraphrasing something I read somewhere, the clothes, furniture, and all that stuff act as a template. Designing it yourself allows for far more stuff than the Sims 2 was ever possibly capable of.
Or maybe you're just lazy.
