They need to stop treating it as a 3rd-hand series, and start putting some actual effort into it. Right now, it's being treated as token support for "See, we put an FF on Nintendo." But with a sliver of the budget and even an even smaller one for advertising, of course they don't do as well. Then the HD fanboys can hail up the mainline as selling better and perpetuating myths that truthfully, are getting annoying.
