 I wouldn't doubt that there is life out there on other planets.  However, to put things in perspective, the Milky Way galaxy (Our galaxy) is 100,000 light years thick and we are on the edge of the galaxy.  That means that even if we could travel at the speed of light, it would take 100,000 years to travel to the opposite edge of the galaxy.  If you accept the belief that there are beings out there intelligent enough to travel such distances, then you would have to believe that it's also possible that we are currently the most intelligint beings in our galaxy.
