LCDS do not burn in.  The worst thing they get is backlight bleed and stuck/dead pixels.. blurring... Plasmas still have some image retention but its no to bad.   Samsung and Sony use similar panels (or the same) as they are part of a joint company that makes the panels for the TVs.  Plasma TVs are slowing fading out.

Ignorance is bliss I guess.

LG is garbage, go to local bars you will see tons of burn in on LGs. A couple family members and friends also have LGs and are complaining about the LCD burn in. Low quality TVs in general all suffer from burn in. I have an ancient LCD monitor (from when they first released) and it has some burn in, it happens.

As for Plasma, the only way to get perma burn in is to leave it on the same screen for DAYS. There are built in programs into the tvs now that make sure it doesn't happen.

An idiot says: "LG is garbage..."

Tell me genius, are all BMW cars better than VW!? No, of course not - you have to look at what model your buying. Now if you apply the same simple logic to TV's, then you won't be going 'Oh WOW' each time you see a Sony Bravia just due to the brand name.

I bought a 40"Bravia and due to it's terrible refresh rate (60Hz) returned it for a 42" 200Hz Motionflow LG. The difference is phenomenal. My eyes are very sensitive to low refresh rates and poor colours. The LG model I have gives the same results as the most expensive Sony or Samsung LCD.

Don't speak such rubbish.

and yet your LG wouldn't be able to compete with the standard 1080p Plasmas. I get it, you are proud of what you bought, but that doesn't make it the best. LG ranks right there with Sceptre, Magnavox, and Dynex.

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/
