Im considering it, not because I think its going to be that great, I just haven't played a traditional jrpg in years

Its not really traditional though.

Closer than anything Ive played this gen

if your lookin for traditional, I suggests LOST ODESSY or BLUE DRAGON. Star Ocean doesnt fit traditional mold

Lost odyssey has been on my gamefly que for almost a year and I still haven't got it.

lol..but seriously I would like if you played SO4, but if you go in lookin for traditional..your gonna be disappointed.

Ive played star oceans before, so I kind of know what I'm in for. Is SO4 much different than the other games in the series?

Its a lot less focus on story. Also item creation is not a big part of the normal playthrough like it was before. Characters background is almost inexistant. Theres only one twist in the story and its not really surprising. Also side quest are only item fetching. Battle is action base like in past games. Apart from stats and leveling up its really light in traditional jRPG element. My feeling about this game, is that it was great while playing, combat is fun, and I always thought the story would pick up somewhere. But at the end you realize that it was a rather bland experience.
