Most protest groups become "Annoying" rather quickly unless you agree with them; and the Tea-Party protestors have just as valid (if not more valid) of arguments against the current administration as the war, environmental and anti-globalization protestors have had with previous administrations.
Much like Al Gore, Sarah Palin will probably not disappear anytime soon because it is in her best interests (financially) to continue to push political issues as hard as she can. For example, I haven’t seen details about it but I would expect that her autobiography sold well enough that she probably made more money in 2009 than she would as president for 8 consecutive years.
