I have finally finished playing this game and will now give a quick review.
1 Graphics & Art: In one word Beautiful , I like eyecandy as much as the next person but i have learned that good graphics without a good art style is like trying to make a gourmet meal out of a regular school lunch nomatter how it looks its still taste horrible. But this game has both good graphics plus wonderful art. I found several places in the game where it was just breathtaking.
2 Sound: The voice acting was great. I was impressed with the emotion in there voices and I like every one of the voices for the characters
3 Gameplay : I thought the combat was better than average to good. At times fun with fighting large mobs other times i realize why i've started to realize even the best rpg have in combat have something broken (my own thought but if you look close at most games there are moves that are worthless or broken) The knight combat was a welcome change and enjoyable and fun and not worthless like some reviews said.
4 Story : I thought the story was excellent to awesome. It kept turning surprising and drawling me in sometimes it was so much i felt steamrolled in a good way. I have never seen a story do most of what this game did. Now of course there is some similarities but all games do. I personally do not see why reviewers said the story was repeatish and weak. Up to the very end it was one of those game that make you think how this could be epic. Now the ending slightly affected this. I'll get back to this.
5 Lasting appeal: I could see myself playing this game over and very few can i say that.
6. Fun Factor: The most important in my opinion. I had alot of fun with this game. i even enjoyed it more them mass effect 2 ... now don't kill me or cry fanboy i like Mass Effect 2 but to me a game is judged partly by how it leaves my fealing while and after and white knight was just more enjoyable to me.
7 Ending and final score: Right up to the end i would have given it a 90 but after the end i realized it was setting up the next game and it did a good job but in the end this caused me to mark it to 85. I can't say more with spoiling but just say it this way if they finish the story with the quality of the first game and bring the story to a good final conclusion I will consider it one of the best stories i've played.
P.S. The online is a good attempt some will like others won't. But in saying this the town building is alot of fun and can take days of your time.
I will say this in closing any rpf fan should give this game a try especially you who consider yourself old school rpg lovers. I like old and new so it great for both tho. And i believe sites who review this game lower then 75 should have another person play it or should inspect the way do things. Sorry VGchartz i know your one of them its just my opinion and i've seen to may good games destroyed by ride the wave reviews.
