Samus is Belgian so I of course he knew. He was just referring to the fact that my country is officially called "the Netherlands". Holland is more of a nickname that has carried over from the time that "Holland" had the monniker "The 7 united provinces". As Draik pointed out, the provinces of North and South Holland are left-overs from that time.
