Instead people were able to compare multiplatform games in which they were virtually identical or even worse. Look at how the PS2 soared past the Dreamcast within a few months of its launch. |
ps2 soared past dreamcast becuase the ps1 was really popular and the perople were ready to upgrade and they could still play their ps1 games on the ps2, and sega stopped the life cycle of saturn short and quickly relased the dreamcast so people were scared that if they bought a console that they would have a new 1 released shortly after
