I'm getting it day 1, but I really don't think something as experimental as this is a recipe for commercial success. Especially in America. We sure love our shooters.

I never get why games that are story driven are turn offs for American gamers while they do great in Japan and Europe.

You know what, I don't fucking get it either. Prime example is Uncharted catching on first in Europe, then America waay later as word spread. Granted, yeah, cliche story, but the game was extremely story based for a TPS.

 

I can only hope Alan Wake does well to prove all is not lost; after all it is on the more popular NA console and should have a better shot.

Being cliched is a not a bad thing.  I keep hearing how JRPG stories are very cliched but you know what, being cliched is the least of the problems with JRPG storytelling.
