This game has probably been mentioned here before, but I thought I might put in my two cents.
League of Legends is a free to play rts (or rtt, i'm not sure) that is along the lines of Demigod or Warcraft 3 AOS. It is very well designed and has a good online system.

If you let me refer you, I would really appreciate it. Right now the server is 'busy', which I assume means they are maintaining it. It is relatively new from what I understand.
