I started with IE like any other fool.

I switched to Firefox almost immediately after it was released. It was faster than IE, more secure, and it had some great extensions (now add-ons). Using custom scripts was the best.

I switched to Opera two years ago because of memory leaks with Firefox, and because in order for Firefox to be worth it, you really do have to download a bunch of add-ons, which hog all of your PC's resources. I didn't have any of those problems with Opera, even after transferring all of my adblock filters.

Opera was faster, but it did come with trade-offs. Many of my favorite websites didn't work with Opera, which was frustrating, but I chose to support Opera rather than shoddy website design. Opera also had features that made it even more appealing to me, I now use Opera's built-in e-mail client to use gmail, and sometimes I use Opera's built-in bittorrent client instead of utorrent. After Opera 10 released, I no longer had any problems with certain websites, and as such, I only use Firefox when I need to stream video that requires the Move Media Player add-on (FOX, ESPN360, etc).

I really wish more people used Opera now because of Opera Unite. Only my parents use it right now, but it's still nice to be able to share pictures with them through Opera Unite.
