I think you guys are overestimating internet speed connections around the world.
As long as it's cheaper to buy physical media, it'll be the standard. Blu-ray will eventually become just as affordable as DVDs are now.
I also think HDTVs have a higher chance of becoming mainstream before average internet speed is high enough for DD.
