from what I've seen, it is a QTE fest, and the tasks do sound boring in theory, but put together (or despite that) it's still an amazing game.
I am confused too, but maybe people are just focusing on what sounds bad rather than what is bad. It's like saying diablo sucks because all you do is click all day.
